I've heard that a T-5, 5 speed from a Mustang will bolt right up to my 47 super deluxe with a flat head V8. Is it that easy? If it is does anyone know what years, models, etc... wil work. Do I have to change the input shaft? I assume the torque tube would have to be replaced?

No, it isn't that easy. It will take an adapter and part manipulation to mate it to the engine. Someone makes an adapter to get you started converting the T-5 to torque tube but the tube and drive shaft have to be shortened. Otherwise you will have to open the center of your frame X-member and convert the rear to open drive.

Here is an article about swapping a T5 transmission into a Model A that you might find of interest. http://lainefamily.com/ModelAFiles/ModelAT5.htm
