Here's one picture I had handy. it should help you. Adjustment is fairly easy. Fit the lid to the opening first. You do this by adjusting the four nut / bolt assemblies that attach the lid to the mechanism. Once the lid fits to the opening properly, you may adjust the how tightly the assembly will close at the "slide".

I am in need of help in re-assembling the air vent open-close assembly. Is there a picture of the unit assembled as well as adjustment procedure? I do not have any manuals that have helped in this arena of problems. Thanks.
