Hood ornament and hood latch adjustment

I shaved mine down, also the latch will NOT operate with the hood up unless you push up on the release that is pushed up when you close the hood,look under the "T" bar and you will see the latch, this is so you will not close the hood with the latched closed

Yes, it's Bill and thank you, Mike One thing I found is that the large spring from the crown of the hood to the upper control rod was missing.

That spring is a very important part of the operation of the hood mechanism.

Bill: It's nothing personal. The site prevents us from posting the ee-el-el sequence of letters so we won't swear as much in print as we do in person. It also has been suggested that it should censor the spelling of Che*rolet.

This is a huge help and I'm grateful to have this resource. I'm going to put it all back together, with the missing spring and following the photos. I'll report back on the results. Thank you all very much!
