I'm going to bend my own dual exhaust system for a 34 with a 37 flathead and standard manifold. Is there an optimal pipe size or any backpressure issue assuming Smitty 22 inch? Thanks!

The larger the pipe the louder it is. Smaller is quieter, stock size TP is the best. The repo Smitties rot out quickly.Made from recycled China beer cans.OMO.Try straight pipes ,not loud at all with small pipes.and no mufflers to buy any more.

I have had Smithy's on my '41 with dual exhaust for 16 years. Other than some of the blue burned off at the entrance they show no signs of wear.
