Okay, Mercury guys. What is this part? Mercury emblem, attaches to metal part. Going to sell but need to know what it is. HELP!

Thanks for the info. Would never have figured it to be for the steering wheel as it is a half-round shape, about 2-inches tall. I thought it might be for the decklid. But, then again, I don't know Mercurys.

There's a genuine official V8 Times color illustration on the back cover of the July August 1991 issue, which shows the steering wheel and complete instrument panel of Suzanne Dolim's 1949 Merc woodie. Photo taken by Lou Mraz, evidently while sitting in the back seat.
