Howdy everyone, where can I find those two chrome trunk hinges that fit on top of the trunk (exterior)? or can I use a 49 Hinge?

Wow! I have been a member of the National Woodie Club for about 15 years and have never seen an ad for them for sale in the "Woodie Times". Talk about something super rare! If you are a member of the NWC you can try a want ad. Any way you could substitute something close or perhaps a boat supply? Good luck in your search!

Left and right '49 trunk hinges are different. They have a slight curve below the pivot. Maybe there is a similar curve along the top edge of a Sportsman trunk lid? If not, what about the possibility of using 1935/1936 Ford humpback trunk hinges? I think the part number is 48-706902.

I really appreciate that input!.. I almost ordered the 49 set .. I did not realize they had a curve.. I will go out and inspect the curves on the Sportsman thanks again!

I was looking at a few Sportsman pictures and the hinges don't look too complicated. If you can get your hands on a sample perhaps they could be duplicated from brass and then plated.

Check your V-8 Club roster for Art Knapp in California. He has a sportsman and if anyone could tell you of a source for those hinges it would be him.

Another thought I had, is to contact Jeff Yeagle of the NWC, mryeagle@gmail.com. Jeff is building a Sportsman from scr*p and he might have some ideas.
