All information that you provide to us for your membership is correct.

VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Yes trjford8 I am new to both! I have already been looking at some of these sites that have been suggested! Thanks and yes I guess it would be considered a "Rouge" car, it is completely unmolested!

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your purchase of a Rouge car. I am another owner of a Rouge car.

I agree with Steve. Check out the Judging standards by clicking on FORMS on the home page of this site. To be safe, check with this Forum before making any repairs.

The 6 cylinder Ford is not as popular as the V-8 Ford, but they are very good cars and are easy to maintain. They ride and handle just the same as the V-8 cars and are just as peppy.

Following-up on trjford8's reply, you will do yourself a world of good by reading-up on and researching what constitutes a truly original car and Rouge Class judging criteria - this before you turn the first bolt/nut/screw. Will produce a higher quality result and save you a ton of time, frustration and especially $$$'s down the road.

Secondly - after investing in your research, make a decision on preservation versus restoration and know clearly what these mean to you in terms of what you want for your car long-term. If the car is truly in as pristine an original condition as it sounds like and likely is, it would seem to be an excellent preservation opportunity. When starting my project I had nothing but restoration on my mind and stars in my eyes. Fortunately the resources on this Forum caught me in time and educated me on the merits of an original, Rouge Class award winning car. Looking back I cannot be more thankful for their education and support, as well as the original car I now enjoy driving around town as well as to shows and Meets.

Please do not throw any original parts or components away. A good example of this is brake shoes - companies are out there than can re-line your originals.

Welcome. When you say you are a new member are you new to this website or new to the Early Ford V-8 Club or both? If new to the V-8 Club there are lots of excellent parts vendors listed in the club magazine, the V-8 Times. There are also some great vendors listed on the front page of this site.
Congratulations on your find of the '50 It sounds like you have purchased what the V-8 Club calls a "Rouge" car. That is one that is all original and never been restored. Those cars are rare and garner a lot of attention as they are just as Ford Built it.

Welcome to the club....I use several suppliers, David Carpenter, Mac's to name a few. Shoebox Ford is good also.

Going to pick up a new to me 1950 fordor deluxe 6 this weekend. It is the dark blue, has 33,000 miles on it and been garaged it's whole life. It's in remarkable condition but will need some minor work. Any recommendations on where to get parts?
