I would suspect a loose connection. Turn on the headlights and feel all of the bullet connectors from the headlight switch to the headlight buckets. If any of them feel warm, reconnect them. If that doesn't solve your problem, do a voltage drop test to find the high resistance connection.

This could be a grounding problem somewhere in the wiring system. I have had that on my 51 ford.

Hey all, Ive been getting my '40 ready for the Christmas parade tomorrow. I havnt driven it at night yet. While doing some prep work tonight I noticed that the lights flicker a bit at any speed above idle. The voltage gauge shows in the green but not sure whats causing it. They're not going off and on just a bit brighter/dimmer. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
