The horn on my 46 has suddenly started to periodically beep on it's own. I put in a new wire several years ago, and recall that the grounding setup at the steering wheel was a guessing game ....insofar as adjusting the screws and washers providing the necessary ground. I would appreciate some suggestions before I open it up again. Thanks.

Unhook the wire going from the horn relay to the bottom of the steering column. If it stops, the problem is between there and the horn button. Either that wire is touching ground inside the column or there is a problem where it attaches to the horn ring. [most likely from what you said.]

Thanks Clifford. I tightened down each of the small screws on the plate the horn wire attaches to - just a little. Seems to have solved the problem.
