I have a black '35 sedan. I am getting ready to install new tires, but want to paint the rims first. I like the look of the green rims with the black body. I have been researching the colours, but want to make sure I have the correct shade of green. I believe the colour to be apple green, but I've noticed that there is a bright apple green as well. What is the correct colour to use, and is there a colour code I can use to have it mixed? Thanks, Rob

If you are a member of the V-8 Club, contact Don Rogers, as he may have the formula for a modern equivalent of the wheel paint. Your car looks to be original, so if there is any of the stripe left, that is the color for your wheels.

Rob, You want to use a medium Apple Green as shown in Whifty's link above. The medium Apple Green is a lot darker than the Apple Green (Bright) used for the pin stripe. Bright Apple Green wheels as used on Model A's would not be correct for your 35. Regards, Don

Great. Thanks for info. I didn't realize there was a medium apple green. Will a paint supplier still recognize the old colour code, or is there a new colour code available?

Don, thanks for correcting my post. I was not aware that the stripe was different from the wheel colors.
