Took off the standard left side manifold and now run into a problem. Cannot get the dual manifold onto the engine. Not enough room, steering box and linkage in the way. Whats next-raise engine? Thanks

The most logical step would be to send the header back to the vendor and ask him to supply one that will fit. Raising the engine may allow you to install the header, but if it is too close to the steering box, you will have other problems. If you are trying to put Fenton Headers on a 36, be aware that they do not fit without modifications.

I've had real good luck with Redds. They make stuff that fits.

I would also recommend Red's Headers. They fit.

If you are using a stock manifold rather than an aftermarket header, be sure that it is the 37-41 version (78-9431) rather than the 42-48 part (21A-9431). The earlier part is thinner and has a bend that clears the steering box.
