Tom O has given some good advice -- now if you want to wake up the drivers behind you, you will have to spend a few bucks. I just installed a 3rd light in my rear window -- just like modern cars -- and with the LED bulbs it wakes them up when I touch the brake pedal. I purchased 6 volt 12 inch bar from BrakeLighter. Great guy to deal with. Sends you the light, you check it out, and then call him back on the 800 number. If you like it, he charges your card, if not, send it back. Can't beat that with a stick these days!

You can spray the inside of the backup light lenses with this: http://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Polycarbonate-PS-37-Translucent-Spray/dp/B001Q1386K

There should be one green wire for left side and another for the right side. You may have to look at the wires coming out of the tail light buckets to see the green wire.

Thank you Tom appreciate it how about or red bulbs 6v without color tape do they sell? so both wires from backup lights each wire spliced into green wire separate one left one right or is there only one green for both ldirectional lights? Thks again Tom.

John, the green wire going to the tail lights should be the stop/turn signal wire. All you have to do is connect the backup lights to these green wires and tape up the wires to backup light switch. Paint the bulbs red or use the tail light repair film on the inside of the back up light lens, or you will confuse the people behind you when the white backup lights go on.

Have backup lights in rear but with crazy drivers that can't see my little directionals within stop lights . So I'm thinking to forego the backup lights and connect them in tandem with existing lights. A diagram would help because I'm not too good at this. I get by on trial and error. Thanks john
