'39 ford deluxe, original 6V system. The head lights will shine only on dim. When switched to brights, the bulbs turn completely off. Tail lights stay on ok. Replaced the dimmer switch and the head light bulbs. New parts from C.A. Same thing happens. Any ideas on what to check next would be great.

Check all the bullet connectors to the headlamp wires. You may have some loose connections.

Have you checked the wiring from the dimmer switch to the high beam connection at the bulb(s). Sounds like an open circuit.

read the voltage going into the switch ,6v minimum, then going out to the dimmer ,no more than.2 volt drop to the dimmer ,,but check all the grounds first

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like it was an open circuit. Spliced a new wire from dimmer to lights and POW, it worked. Thanks again
