Dansford- I have removed the horn rod several times via the back window BUT, after you remove the bottom hardware (light bulb, spring, retainer clip), you must remove the left floor board and you also need to remove two of the three bolts that hold the steering gear to the frame and the two bolts that hold the steering column to the dash lip. It's possible, but you will probably have to loosen the box at the frame mount also to get the correct angle.Bear in mind that the rod is greasy when removed, so cover all your upholstery to avoid damage. Also keep in mind not to bend the rod, even slightly. It needs to come straight out

What is the length of the 36Ford horn rod and would it be possible to remove the horn button and rod out the back window by lowering the coloumn drop on a 5window coupe? Thanks
