When I became editor in 1996, the V-8 TIMES was 96-pages. Prior to that, it was smaller. The Index of Articles does not specify if an item is an "article" or a "mention" in the CARrespondence (Advisor) section. To confirm, I checked the issue in question. It was 64-pages. The item appears on page 58 in response to general questions about a 1940 Ford one being why a 95-hp engine would be in the car rather than the 85-hp. The answer was that sometimes police vehicles had the larger V-8 (Mercury engine) installed. That was it. Just be aware of this when perusing the Index of Articles.

chris, you may search all articles printed in the v-8 times on this website! You can find which V-8 TIMES issue the article was originally printed in, then contact our v8accessories@gmail.com to see if that issue of the V-8 times is still available to purchase from the Online Store. look at the home page left hand side, select early ford v-8 times articles and enjoy!

Chris, Are you sure of the volume and issue number? I have that issue and don't see anything about the '40 Mercury engine. Ken

I am looking for an article from V8 Times volume 18 numner 6 on the 1940 Mercury engine which starts on page 58. Does anyone have an extra edition for sale or a copy of this article? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, Chris cemac@macallister.com or 317-543-0306
