Huh? That's an unusual way to display your collection!

it was either that way...or take the one off the car for the pic,..the one I have on the car now is a Franklin locking ornament that resembles a Lincoln Zephyr ornament a little.

Interesting collection. Those locking hood ornaments are becoming very scarce and pricey.

thanks. yeah they are getting expensive. I once saw a '37 with a greyhound ornament, much like the '34s in an old V8 Times...would love to find one of these. The one with the "ribs" on the side is the only one that Ford recognized apparently. here is another pic of the one I have on the car now.

That's a cool collection of hood ornaments. I had an unusual '37 greyhound hood ornament that had an amber colored piece of glass or plastic inserted in the center of the body. It was not the typical looking greyhound that was used in '34. There was an article in the V-8 Times a few years ago on various types of hood ornaments that were available in '37 and there was one in that article that was identical to mine. John

yeah, I use the same V8 Times for information on these as well. I have seen the one your referring to, wouldn't mind having one. a lot of the ones in the magazine are bolt on that make it resemble the one I have on the car currently. thanks for the comments.

I think the one JM is refering to is the "canine". I bought it at Carsile maybe 15 years ago. Supposed to be the rarest of the aftermarket ones.

out of the 20 or so produced for that year..they made 3 that stand out to me..I have a "franklin locking" one on my car now..its neat, as it looks much like a zephyr model..but these two..especially the ribbed locking one are pretty cool i think. this one might have to be installed on the car at some point.

Hello 37 ford, I have a collection of after market hood ornaments for my '46 Ford woodie. I have eight as of now and don't know exactly how many there were. It's fun going to car shows and have people tell me that I have the wrong hood ornament on my car and then when I show them the small display I set up with all my ornaments they are really interested.
