Hi everyone, I've been looking all over the internet, looking through our books, and browsing through catalogs and I just can't seem to find any pictures or parts for the hood latch and safety catch on a '40 Deluxe Coupe. I see the hood ornament lever and spring as well as the safety catch are offered from some vendors. Does anyone have any pictures of their setup? I'm looking for pictures of the mechanism inside the hood and what it "grabs" when the hood is closed, and how the safety catch is attached. Thank you so much! -Allen

Bob Drake's catalogue has some drawings showing the latch mechanism for both the deluxe and standard models. I'd attach them but I don't know how to use the scanner. Bill

Here is a link showing how the safety catch is installed http://www.bobdrake.com/Images/Features/Bobs-Pages/Bobs_Tips_files/DTT-pdf/1939-41_Hood_Lock_Diff-DTT.pdf Pictures of the hood latch parts are found in the 1941 Chassis Parts catalog. This is reproduced as Polyprints V-38 and is available from most vendors. Allen, I thought that you had your car finished as we have not heard from you for a while.
