There are plenty of '37 to '48 steering boxes to be had out there. I have picked up 6 in the last few years, plus I passed on many.

You can use a GM steering box , but you will have to modify the steering shaft and column to make it work. You will also lose the light switch at the bottom of the column.I think if you continue to search you will find a 37-40 box. Check some of the hotrod sites (hotrod Hotline, etc) or e-bay as many guys remove the box for a more modern front end/steering.

hey gang, Is there any after market steering box I can get to replace the 36 box, or do I have to stick with the 37-4o steering boxes which are hard to come by. Any info. will be greatly appreciated, and I thank all who answer. Hal
