I have a 35 coupe with a 36 fuel gage. It has a new sending unit which I have not tuned yet. The reason I have not tuned it is when the sender is grounded the oil press. gage goes up also. It seems as though the fuel sender is giving a signal to both gages. I have not looked under the dash yet The car was recently restored and I am currently ironing out the bugs....any suggestions on where to look will be appreciated.

You may have the fuel sender wire on the wrong terminal of the fuel gauge. On a 36 the BG wire goes to the terminal of the oil pressure gauge that is closest to the gas gauge. There is a short jumper bar between the oil pressure gauge and the gas gauge that is also on the same terminal as the BG wire. The sending unit wire goes to the other terminal on each gauge.

It sounds like you have a 36 fuel gage in a 35. The 35 is supposed to have the liquid gauge. I would definitely check the under dash wiring to make sure the correct wire for the sending unit is on the correct terminal.
