I know there are hi temperature paints out there that require them to be baked to cure. How effective are they and is there one that matches the color of new cast iron? I can only find the aluminum shade.

Eastwood says that they have a cast iron coating for exhaust manifolds. http://www.eastwood.com/paints/underhood-paints/exhaust-paints.html

I have used VHT hi-temp Nu-Cast manifold coating SP-998 Cast Iron on exhaust manifolds and it has held up pretty well. I bought it at my local Kragen Auto store, but it is available from Summit Racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/vht-sp998
