Will the 46-48 Mercury bumper wing tips fit 46-48 Ford bumpers? I think they would but if someone knows for sure I would appreciate it. I have a chance to get a set but would like to know for sure. Thanks and Happy New Year.

The Merc bumper has a different contour than the Ford. You could probably get the Ford tips to work if you modified them ,but you would have to rechrome them.

I must be about the only one who thinks that those bumper tip wings don't enhance the appearance of the car. There are repros for the '40s, but usually others have to be run down at a big swap meet, then rechromed. They seem to be very pricey, not including the replating.

I agree. Perhaps the less "accessories" the more the intrinsic beauty of the vehicle is complimented

Supereal You are not the only one. I have to agree that the bumper tips, u shaped grille guard, and the chrome wheel center covers do nothing to enhance the appearance of a 40s era car. Ted

I agree that less is oftentimes better. I think my coupe looks not necessarily better, but "different" because it appears just like it would if sitting on the showroom floor - no skirts, no sun visor, no fog lights, and no bumper tips.
