Can anyone provide instuction on how to remove the horn ring/button on a 1941 Super Deluxe? I cannot see how it removes, and given the delicate nature of the ring, am cautious to pry it. Thanks, John

Push it down and turn it to the left. If it hasn't been off for a long time, it can take some force to get it loose. Don't pry it. Good horn rings are scarce and pricey.

First, disconnect the battery so the horn doesn't honk. Then depress the button/ring to compress the spring. Next rotate the button/ring about 30 degrees counter clockwise. At that point it should lift out. It might not be easy. The ring is delicate and the button is difficult to turn without using the ring. What you are doing is compressing three loops made out of spring steel on the back of the button so that they will slide out of notches in a ring which is attached to the inner edge of the big hole in the steering wheel. If you search eBay for "1941 Ford Steering Wheel" you can see a good picture of the what is under the button.

Thanks to both of you - I have the old ( incorrect horn ring ) off safely and the original Super Deluxe horn ring on. This forum is such a great source of information! Best, John
