Looking for a source for the newer type ball bearing water pumps for a 35 Ford. Found a bunch of dealers that handle them but everyone is out of them at this time. Dick dneddinger@sbcglobal.net

Because the in-head pumps were not reproduced for a long time, I'm not surprised that Drake and others have them on backorder. An alternative is to have your pumps rebuilt by Skip Haney. You can contact him at skip@fordsrus.com

Thanks for the reply. I have found old style pumps but I was looking for the new style.

Who knows where the new pumps are made, but its a pretty good guess. I have seen some of these pumps where the pulley is to small for the belt to fit properly and some won't bolt up to the engine without some work. 32-36 pumps have a short shaft compared to 37 up. A small stream of water is present on the shaft, so if & when its gets through the seal and rust the bearing it will lock up and leave you at the side of the road. The bushing pumps will get U home. Send the original pumps to Skip. You will be glad you did. Great guy to deal with and stands behind his work.
