The hood touches the top of the grill at the latch. Then the gap gows to 3/8" in just the length of the passenger side of the grill and holds then line the length of the hood. The hood lines up with the cowl.

Getting all gaps on the front clip (sheet metal) is a time consuming and frustrating job. If the gap is wider at the front than at the cowl end, sometimes you can shift the front by loosening the yoke that also holds the radiator, and then moving the whole assembly in the direction of the wider gap. Too often the problem is the result of a slightly bent frame, usually from towing. If minor, loosening the fender bolts and shimming until the gaps are even is possible. Every change affects all of them.

I have a 37 coupe and the gap between the hood, side panel and grill on the passenger side is 3/8". The driver sideis 1/8" to centerline of grill. How do I align the passenger side to 1/8"??
