If you ordered the knobs for a l950 you should have no problem knowing if they are for your l950. The l950 Custom Deluxe have knobs like no other models or years.

beehive, I don't want to nit pick , but you said you ordered a set of dash knobs. Just because you ordered them for 50 does not mean the guy in the warehouse sent the correct ones. You then ask "are the controls not for a 50?" It appeared to me that you were not sure you had the correct ones, so I recommended you call the supplier first before modifying them. Just trying to save you some $ because once you modify something it can't be returned.

Find a small bolt with the same thread as required, and grind one side flat. Drill out the knob using a bit that is undersized, and use the bolt as a tap, being careful not to split the knob. We have used this trick many times. Usually, super glue won't work, as it seldom adheres to plastic. Otherwise, you couldn't get the cap off the tube.

Before modifying anything I would call the company to make sure you have the correct knobs.

I ordered and received a set of dash knobs for my 50 ford tudor. The ones I got have small threads but the air vent controls have larger treads what if anything can be done maybe drill them out and use supper glue? Or are the controls not for a 50? They are from a national company that I have used before.
