Usually a 2 man job. I've heard rumors that some of the late 36 vents having captive nuts but I've never seen one. Remove the 3 screws that hold the vent screen down. There should be 4 screw heads visible from the outside that hold the vent cover to the mechanism. One guy inside to reach up under the dash to hold the nuts and one to unscrew them from the outside. Suggest you put some lube on them the day before you try removal. Scribe or mark the location of the screw heads on the vent so it will be easier to relocate it on reassembly.

Anybody know how to R & I '36 Ford vent door assy. I need to replace the rubber seal and clean it out around. Novice. So I need to find detail instructions if that is possible. Thanks for those who respond. Happy New Year!!
