Does any know what color the seat skirts are supposed to be on a 50 / 51 that's painted Hawaiian bronze. I've been told either body color (Hawaiian bronze) or the same brown as the vinyl on the seats.

I checked the 49-51 V-8 Club book and this is the information that I found. The lower part of the Crestliner dash(1950) is painted semi-gloss black(page 3-7 of the book). On page 3-15 of the book there is a paragraph that does address the seat shields and colors. The paragraph states that seat shields for 1950 were painted either gray, tan , or black. This paragraph does not specify the Crestliner, but says these were the colors of the seat shields on all Custom Deluxe cars.

Thanks. The car is a 50 custom deluxe not a crestliner. I have that book but must have missed the info on 3-15. Sounds like they must have been tan or body color - Hawaiian bronze) I say that because in the corrections on the home page of this site it says Page 3-2 at the very bottom of the page add: "very late 1950 sedans and coupes that were painted Hawaiian bronze had tan metallic instrument panels. garnish moldings and ashtray faces (probably the same as Hawaiian bronze" . I know the dash, garnish moldings and ashtray faces were Hawaiian bronze but it had a 49 seat in it when I got it. I found a 50 seat but the skirts are grey and I'm pretty sure thats not right.
