Usually, there is no cutout for the rear window in the headliner. After the headliner is installed, an opening is carefully made in it so the edges can be cemented to the edges of the opening as the headliner is pulled tight to work out any wrinkles before it is trimmed. . Then, the glass is inserted in the gasket, and the assembly is held in place by a helper, using a pull cord already inserted in the groove of the rubber. We use liquid dish soap to lube the gasket, but be sure that so much isn't used that it gets on the headliner, itself. We use an old screwdriver with a bent tip to help get the rubber out around the outside of the window, but be careful that you don't pry against the glass.
