Anybody have any idea where to locate the stoplight switch on '36 fordor sedan deluxe? I have no stop lights. I have new wiring from tailight back to the main wire at the frame. Please help. Thank-you.

If it is like the '34 I just looked at 10 minutes ago, it will be bolted to the frame cross member about 1/2 inch from the point where the brake pedal pivots on its shaft. I had to get a light to see it.

Actually it is bolted to the underside of the clutch/brake pedal mounting bracket assembly. It has to be accessed from under the car. It's a formed sheetmetal part with two leads attached with screw terminals. Just find the wiring in that area and the wiring will lead you to the switch. There is no guarantee that the brake switch is your problem though. Could be taillight bulbs, sockets, wiring, etc. Good luck! JM

Thanks, JM. It's on the bracket on the '34 too. Sure is dark under there.
