There are a number of commercial radiator cleaners on the market, but I wouldn't expect a lot of improvement. You have to be cautious about such flushes, as they can attack and breach any thin spots in the tubes. When we used to boil the radiators in a hot tank, more often than not, there was a leak or more to repair when tested. "Demineralized" water works fine, too, but lots of lime lurks in the crags of the cast iron block. If you are not having heating problems, I wouldn't worry.

you could try a mild acid like white vinegar

I looked in my radiator last night. Looks like I have some lime build up. I have been using distilled water, but I could have put some tap water in at some point. The build up does not appear to have stopped anythig up yet. It is just along some of the bottom of the top tank. How would I get rid of the Lime?
