Does anyone have a copy of a '51 turn signal wiring diagram? I don't need a general wiring diagram for a turn signal add-on, I need one specifically for a '51. Another option I would consider is buying the entire turn signal kit 1A-18440A, if anyone has one on a shelf collecting dust and no longer need it! Thanks for the help. Tom

The turn signals were an accessory, so there was a separate wiring harness for them. If you order the harness, you will get the wiring diagram. Tyree Harris mailed me a wiring diagram for earlier cars, when I wanted to find out if I could use it on my car. His E-Mail is tyreeswires@peoplepc.com

I checked my manuals, and the only diagram I found was one that showed how to interconnect the turn signals with the existing wire loom. All turn signals follow the generic wiring diagram. I assume you need the steering wheel hub circuitry.

Supereal Bob- I have a couple of generalized turn signal layouts but what I need is a diagram for the steering hub type of turn signals. This is what I have on the '51. Unfortunately, the wires have turned to powder so I am looking at a re-wire project hence the needed diagram. Thanks for the help. Tom

Tom: I'll keep looking. Turn signals were considered an accessory that year, so I assume that the switch was probably a proprietary design, and that there may be several varieties. I suspect that is why the manuals only show the loom interconnects.

Turn Signals, were standard equipment in 51, not an accessory. On all Custom Models. Sherrel

Mike- I have looked over VanPelt's collection of wiring diagrams. It is a nice collection and the price is "right" (free!). The unfortunate part is the '51 diagram does not show the turn signal wiring. However, all is not lost. I got an email from Tyree Harris (as suggested above) and it looks like he has something that will work for me. Thanks to you and all the others for the help. Tom
