John, no, the deflectors are gloss, as are other black parts under the hood. You'll understand the whys and wherefores when you consider that the radiator was painted by the manufacturer out of house. No attempt to match shades was made.

I'm preparing to paint my radiator and the 38 Ford Book states the radiator should be "Flat Radiator Black" which I've been informed is actually a satin finish. My question is the "Side Air Deflectors" that existed on both sides and welded to a flat metal piece along the bottom - the deflectors protrude in front of the radiator towards the grill - is this to be painted the same "satin finish" as the radiator?
