Shims should be between the top of the axle boss and the under side of the upper arm of the spindle. Add shims to obtain .005 - .015 clearance. CR

If you need them, place them on the underside of the spindle.

I'm almost ready to put my spindles back on. When I got the kingpin kit, I got some extra shims, just in case. I assume these are to eliminate any up and down play between the spindles and the axle. If needed, where should the shims go? At the top of the axle? Above the top spacer? Or does it matter? All responses appreciated! Tim 1938 Standard coupe
