I have a 1934 Ford 4 door deluxe. I have the book and the attached pic is about the stripe from the book. My question is.. the pin stripier said that the pic is incorrect and the center stripe is supposed to connect with the point? Is he correct or is the pic the correct way the stripe should look at the beginning of the hood. I want what is most original! Also... were the vertical stripes on the vents of the hood on all the cars or only on the deluxe or just an option? Thanks for your help! Nate

Nate, how does your pinstriper know that the book is inaccurate? The 34 book was researched for a long time and those that contributed to the book spent a lot of time in the Ford archives. The book is often referred to when cars are being judged on the concourse, so I doubt that the book would give out dubious information. Most 34's that I have seen have the stripe just as it is shown in the book. I admire stripers talents, but they are paid to do the job by the customer. They should do it as the customer wants it done.
