Left and right in a vehicle is always from the driver's position (like left and right turns).

I'm working on putting a wiper transmission in to my 1946 ford. one side is marked left the other right . witch goes on what side? and is it from inside the car or outside. i know i have to get under the dash, just need to know witch goes where. i would think it would be as if i'm inside the car on the driver side. left is on the drivers side?
