I have bought several nice ones for my 47 on ebay.

Bumper guards are difficult to find. I had to replace both on the back of my '47 whan an idiot rear ended me. I finally found them in L.A. at a place called "Bumper Boys". You can find them with your browser. They were very good quality.

Page 707 of the green book shows the bumpers of 47. All but sportsman, sedan del station wagon had them on rear. Page 691 shows them on all 47 - 48 pass

I am restoring a late '47 business coupe and I was wondering if the 46-48 cars all had bumper guards from the factory or not. I am trying to keep this car as true to original as possible without all of the frills and options of the super deluxe models. I have managed to locate new old stock items such as the deluxe hood badge, clock delete and the rear quarter stainless. It also has a ash tray blank and radio delete. I think that it would look nice without the bumper guards but I'm willing to include them for authenticity. Thanks
