VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I prefer the big 3" whites. That is why I stuck with the bias ply tires.

I think the '51 looks good with the widest whites that were available. I got mine from Kelsey Tire Company.

My catalogs show the 205 radials with a 2 3/8 whitewall. The determining factor is the profile of the tire. Due to the smaller sidewall height of the radials, as compared to bias ply, there was less room for the decoration. As the radials grew more popular, the sidewall decoration eventually became just a small band, such as the "redline" tires. Now that huge rims have become popular, the sidewalls have shrunk to the point that only white letters are usually seen, if at all. It is interesting to see these 19 inch and larger rims come back, as many of us well remember the 19 inch Model A type. I guess it is really true that "what goes around, comes around".

I have a 670 x 15 whitewall tire, a Firestone "Super Balloon" that I believe is original to my 50 coupe. The whitewall width is 3 1/2" including the 1/2" band. I am currently using 205R75 x 15 radials with 2 1/2 or 2 3/4" whitewalls. The 205R75 x 15 radial is the replacement size for the 670 but it is about 1" in height less than its bias replacement (Approx 26 1/2" vs 27 1/2"). I am using Diamondbacks on both of my 50s and am pleased with them. Some club members with Cokers complained of whitewall checking and difficulty in balancing but I believe that neither is currently an issue. If you go with new rims make sure that they are 5" with the same backspacing as the originals or you will have clearance problems on the rears. Hope that helps. . .

the orig bias ply tire for this car was 670-15 which converts to a 205-75R15 in a radial tire.

Usually, the width of the whitewall varies with the size of the tire. For instance, the 225 is 2 3/4, while the 255 is 3". Which size did you order for your car?

anyone know what would the correct period whitewall width be for a 51 ford 2dr custom deluxe?? 2 3/4"..3" ? Also is there a 1/2" band at the outer edge of the whitewall? I am planning to buy radials. Does anyone have a preference Coker vs Diamondback Classic ?? Thanks.
