VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I've been looking for the correct water pump for my 35 Cabriolet. Is there a difference between a 34 and a 35 passenger side water pump? I know the 34 starts with a 40-XXXX part number and the 35 has a 48-XXXX part number. Are the angles of the neck different? Did the 34 pump carry over to 35 without a part number change?

The same water pumps, 68-8502, were used from '32-'36. To my knowledge, they are not being reproduced. If you have a rebuildable pump, it can be sent to Skip Haney or C&G. There are also rebuild kits available, but the job is best left to a pro who has the correct tools and experience.

The LS water pump has a hole with treads for the water temp gauge,
the right side does not,
it might be also different in a std and deluxe models ,and would have a 48 prefix number. if FORD maked them, were you could see,
check the parts books before you make a decision,

I found a good rebuildable pump at a swap meet last weekend. It has a 40-XXXX part number and the original grease fitting and cap. According to Supereal, my $5 investment was a wise purchase. I will send it out for rebuilding and leave it to someone with more experience.

Supereal, I have to disagree with your statements on '32-'36 water pumps. '32 pumps had long necks and carried part numbers 18-8501/8502. '33-'34 had shorter necks and carried part numbers 40-8501/8502. '35 to early '36 carried numbers 48-8501/8502. Late '36 carried part number 68-8501/8502. 68-xxxx can also be used from '32-'35 but they would not be show correct. Also, Harry Fryer was reproducing some of the '32-'36 water pumps with new CI housings. I am not sure if his son still does this after he took over the business.

I did notice that the part numbers were deeply cast into the housing compared to other pumps I have seen. Some have a faint casting almost like a stamping or etching. Could this deeper, more pronounced stamping be a reproduction? The left pump I have has a 48-XXXX part number with a faint stamping. Do you know how many vendors produced water pumps for Ford at this time? Multiple vendors might explain the difference in stamping styles.

I should have qualified my posting by saying that the 68 prefix appears to be the only one now used for repair and replacement. Granted, they are not "show correct", and anyone seeking absolutely "correct" pumps will have to start the "treasure hunt" for the earlier 18 and 40 pieces. I haven't seen any repros, nor any at the big swap meets in our area.

Attached is a photo of the water pumps before and after having Skip rebuild them. I did not find any identification numbers. Are these correct '34 pumps?

Bill, The pumps that you show are 1936 universal replacement pumps. They will fit on either side of the engine. While they will function perfectly, they are not correct for your 34 (if you are having it point judged). 34 pumps will not have an outlet for the temperature gauge on either pump and the lubricator fitting will not be angled towards the back of the pump. There will also be only one tapped hole on each pump for the lubricator fitting and it will face outwards towards the fender.

The correct water pumps for a 34 will have the 40-xxxx part number cast in the body. Replacement (aftermarket) pumps will not have the part number.
