I have 37 pick up that I have owned for 30 years. I have the original 21 stud engine which had a busted cylinder. Many years ago I removed a 24 stud from a 39 panel and it was rebuilt several years ago. I have finally found the time to start rebuilding and I need some replacement frame pieces to start with. I am talking about the cross pieces in a few places which are badly damaged. I kept both transmissions, but I can't remeber which one was in the 37. I would love to get my hands on a good book or manual with information specific to the 37 and the 24 stud motor. More questions will be posted as I keep working. jsnyder223@comcast.net

The serial number stamped on the transmission bell housing will tell you the year of manufacture. 1937 serial numbers range is 18-3331857 to 18-4186446. Here is a link to buy a book on the 37 Fords. It may not have much information on the pickup. http://www.fordv8foundation.org/restobooks.html MACs Ford parts sells the reprints of the 32-37 Chassis parts catalog and the 37-38 Body Parts along with other service book reprints.

For replacement frame pieces go to Precison Coach Works. You can check them on the web at; www.precisioncoachworks.com

The serial number on one of them is 18 5091427. The other transmission is stamped BB18-1345383. The BB has a side cover to access the gears and the top where the shift lever is. The other only has the top where the shift lever is.

It seems that you have a later transmission with the 18- number. That would be the one that will match the pickup frame setup. The other transmisson with the BB is BIG truck and will have gears in it that you will probably not want in a pickup. Otherwise, the frame information above should help.
