Your seat has a solid ( one piece) backrest. The seat is hinged at the top of the backrest and swings forward and up.

Thanks, Does the seat hinge at the bottom of the front or at the bottom of the back at the rear? I have also called this coupe called the "short Door Coupe" as well. I'm not sure the proper terminology I just know I really like the roof line better on this model and that's why I bought it.

My 1942 3 passenger coupe has a solid back. It is hinged and swings forward. I don't beleive Ford called them business coupes.

I just bought a '46 business coupe and, unfortunately, the seat is missing. My question is: What type of seat came with the car? Was it a split back bench or a bench with a one piece back? I have seen both in photos and I would like to get it right the first time. If any members have one which has been judged to be correct I would greatly appreciate any photos. Thanks! Joe S.
