I went out and measured the clearances on my 38. The bottom of the horn trumpets are about 2 inches below the radiator, which is quite a bit higher than the bottom of the lower frame channel flange where the stabilizer would mount. I think you could do it without substituting the 38 horns for others. If you decide to replace the horns, put them on our classified, as they are rather rare.

Shouldn't be a problem. The 38 frame is the same as the 40. The only issue may be the horns on a 38. They hang way down below the radiator and may interfere with the bar. You might have to change the style of horns. '40 horns mount on the inner fender panel in the engine compartment.

My freind wants to put a 40 front stabilizer bar on a 38 Deluxe. Has anyone done this before? What problems will we have? He has all the necessary 40 parts, perch bolts, swivels&complete bar assembly. Thanks to all.
