ok, I didn't think it was a ford option. My car a 1950 custom deluxe has had some wannabe custom work done to. complete with bondo and fiberglass and chicken wire and window screen. The tops of the quarter panels where the seem attaches and over laps have been shaved off. the seem is still there under the tail lights. I was thinking to weld a strip of sheet metal to restore the appearance. Anyone else have these issues of old custom work needing to be restored?

No Todd, These were Not a ford option. They were aftermarket items. There were two different widths of these molding. One just clipped on & the wider one, you had to drill & mount a clip with a screw. I have a set of each width. Hope this helps.

A lifetime ago I had a '50 ford convertible and it did not have the chrome strips you describe.
