Jim, you mmight contact Jerry Lew in California. He's in the roster and has a good knowledge of the 52-53 cars. Another contact would be Ray Beebe in New York.He also has a good knowledge of these cars.

Tom: Thanks for the response. The knob that came with the rear speaker is round and about 1/2 inch across. It can be turned to three different positions. For each position there is a separate wire that goes somewhere. Part of the problem is that I don't know if the switch is original, but it looks like it ought to be. Jim Farrell

My 53 Mercury had the fade control (rear speaker) right on the volume control. There was also a jack plug on the side of the radio for the speaker wire.

Does anyone have factory instructions for a rear speaker and a rear defroster for 52 to 54 Ford? I was lucky enough to find used accessories but they didn't come with instructions. There is a round knob that also came with the rear speaker. I assume I goes under the instrument panel close to the radio, but exactly where? The rear defroster appears to be NOS. I suspect it wires into the defroster control on the instrument panel, but that's a guess. The club's advisor doesn't have instructions. Thanks. Jim Farrell
