It is a babbit bearing engine (I think) and from what I have read at the stovebolt forums they are only worth scr*p metal prices unless you are lucky enough to find someone who wants an original motor and can deal with the bearing issue and overhaul. You sure have a huge project on your hands! seawolf1989 09-20-2010 @ 7:02 AM reply profile send p.m. Member Posts: 8 Joined: Sep 2010 ok well thank you all again. i appreciate the tips and hints. well iv been checking online for doors and ebay only has the skins but im still checking. the hood and radiator cover im going to make myself and that gas tank im thinking would look good sitting in between the rear fenders on the bottom of the body. i work at mcdonalds so i have to deal with the cards im dealt. so alot on this car will be custom design lol. like i said thank u again and keep the hints and websites coming gentlemen and ladies. ps i was talking to the owner and he owns both a 30-30 and a 22 David 37RAGTOPMAN 09-20-2010 @ 4:37 AM reply profile send p.m. Senior Posts: 1958 Joined: Oct 2009 Try buying a set of doors, before you do anything else, these are the hardest to find, I guess ,I was right about it being a MODEL T FORD 1926-27. I going with a 30-30 for the bullet holes, looking at the area,in the picture, also many MODEL T ENGINES are out there, SNYDERS ANTIQUE FORD PARTS,in OHIO,, sells rebuilt ones,it will be easier and cheaper to restore to original, then to built rod, but that's my 3 cents worth,37RAGTOPMAN ITS GLAD to se a young man interested in old cars, I guess there is hope out there yet, trjford8 09-19-2010 @ 7:39 PM reply profile send p.m. Senior Posts: 4214 Joined: Oct 2009 What you have is a 26-or 27 Model T tudor sedan body. It's a fairly desireable body. I'm not sure about the frame, but the motor is definitely a GM 6 cylinder. You might want to check the Fordbarn website; www.fordbarn.com. The have a section for Model T's and you will get a lot of information there. Model T's are fun and they still have a good following by Ford guys. Just for info the round gas tankthat is laying in the front section of the car is not the stock tank. The 26-27 T tank is an odd shape and fits up into the cowl like a Model A. Also the bullet holes in the left rear quarter are not "stock' holes! Good luck with your new found project. I know several kids who went to Wyotech and they all got jobs in the car hobby. This message was edited by trjford8 on 9-19-10 @ 7:43 PM seawolf1989 09-19-2010 @ 6:25 PM reply profile send p.m. Member Posts: 8 Joined: Sep 2010 thank u again and i would agree that the motor is a 216 and ya im sure someone on ebay or craigslist would like it. im looking forward to restoring this car knowing full well that i will never be able to make my money outta it lol but it would be a great for a 20 year old to own. i alrdy located a frame and headlights and im probably going to make the hood, doors, and radiator cover at school for a project. like i said if anyone hav any suspension parts springs shock an updated rear end or independent front that they want to get rid of please email me. im also working on a 65 mustang fastback that i also paid 500 for also. i need a drivers side fender door bumper and rear quarter along with a front and rear valance though those can be purchased on ebay for a fairly low price. or any dress up parts for a 289 thank you all for your input and im going to be wrighting on this forum for years to come Stroker 09-19-2010 @ 5:14 PM reply profile send p.m. Senior Posts: 1460 Joined: Oct 2009 David: I, at one time had a 26 Ford, and given the last photo's you have posted, I would agree that it is most likely a 26 or 27 Ford Tudor ("Tudor" was a Ford trademark for two-door) sedan. I base this on the shape of the rear and side windows, the belt line, the upper firewall shape with the distinctly Ford style singele radiator support bracket, and the cowl door, which looks like a vent, but was actually the access door for the fuel tank. In addition, the typical Ford rear fender cross-section profile, and mounting bracket for the tail light yell "Ford!". 26 and 27 were essentially the same except for the availability of wire wheels in 27, which was the last year for the Model T. The car must have had a later model engine (perhaps the 216?), as the voltage regulator on the firewall would of course not be consistent with a Model T. The downside is of course that you are missing doors, and lots-o-stuff. The upside is that there are many suppliers of 26-27 Ford Model components. You are right in the first step, and that is identifying the "remains". I would take issue with Alan though, as I would be more inclined to pin-point the holes as being generated by a 32, vs 22 caliber. I respect your vision and ambition, and when I was your age, I too, might have accepted the challenge that lies ahead. You may be able to find a buyer for the "Stovebolt" Chevy 216, on Ebay, and I would try and find some good Model T owner's groups to help you with the rest. The Early Ford V8 Club Forum has some members that are familiar with Model T's, but you really need to network with Model T "folks' to get the best answers. I traded my 26 Ford Coupe for a 1949 Piper PA-16 "Clipper" airplane some years ago, so I've kind of dropped out of the Model T "loop". seawolf1989 09-19-2010 @ 4:34 PM reply profile send p.m. Member Posts: 8 Joined: Sep 2010 ok so iv been checking ebay and google for 5 hours and im 95 percent sure its a 26 ford model t. there is one on ebay in the same shape as mine and they look so identical its eerie. except that one has doors. that being said does anyone have the pass. side headlight, the dash the visor or any misc they are looking to sell seawolf1989 09-19-2010 @ 3:32 PM reply profile send p.m. Member Posts: 8 Joined: Sep 2010 well like i said i knew the motor was outta a chevy. he has a chevy deluxe sitting next to this car with no engine or rear axle. its has a carter carb on it. like i said i would like to narrow it down to what year and make this car it. and i think it is very possible to restore. the only rust spot that goes all the way through the metal is on the body on the inside of the rear fender. i can do most of the body work and engine work myself the only help i will need is on frame and suspension work. the chevy motor is definitely going though. im thinking of a 302 would make a good replacement unless anyone has a flathead laying around add me on facebook for more pictures please. seawolf1989@yahoo.com ford38v8 09-19-2010 @ 2:18 PM reply profile send p.m. Senior Posts: 2758 Joined: Oct 2009 David, The vintage of your automobile is about 1917-1923, but having no more than the few features presented in this picture, a positive ID as to manufacture is difficult if at all. That said, however, I can throw a bit of light on the question: I'd bet a considerable amount, say half a dollar, on a Winchester 22 long rifle, eight rounds at perhaps 100 yards or so. Alan
