Have a set of heads I removed from what is supposed to be 1939 or 40 Mercury engine has the correct center waterholes in block. The heads are marked 9 T cannot find any reference in any of the ford books I have. Anyone ever seen heads with this marking Thanks, Rick

Rick, The "T" head is correct for the '39 - '40 Mercury. I'd never seen the "9T" so can't offer any advice as to what that may indicate. The very early "T" heads had the "T" between the first and second spark plug hole. Quite early in production, the "T" was moved to between the second and third spark plug hole.

Rick, there should be numbers cast into each head adjacent to the top deck of the engine.
