Front axle stabilizer. my 33 has one on it do I really need it?

It looks like a door closure it’s connected to the axel and the ty rod years ago it was an aftermarket add-on to stop it from Gandy danceing

Most of those stabilizers were used to cover up a front end "shimmy". A front end in good shape with nice tight kingpins, tie rod ends and a good tight wishbone ball should not need one.

I agree with TRJ. Get rid of that bar and make darn certain the front chassis is in GOOD condition and properly aligned.
