I also have three of the NOCO Genius battery charger/maintainers. I have a 1 amp, 2 amp, and 5 amp. They automatically recognize whether the battery is a lead acid battery, AGM battery, or Lithium battery. Will work on 6V or 12V. So far, they work great! Purchased from Amazon. Pat

Regarding my three cars (two classic) they each are 12 volt and have auto-store brand tenders on all the time. I guess I may be lucky given some of the stories noted here. My '47 Ford has an 8 year old Walmart battery that keeps on going strong. The battery in my '84 "other car brand" is a 12 years old Wagner brand battery and it keeps on going well. They'll probably all go bad at the same time.

I have 6 Volt "Battery Tenders" for my 34 For, my 35 Ford and my 66 VW, love them. 12 volt ones for the other cars. I drive the cars and then leave the tenders off for a month or more before charging them up again, hoping to go for more rides to let the generators charge them up again. 1934 Ford's since 1972

better keep an eye on them; we had one on a Ford script battery on our 38 conv.,,went to garage, could smell acid, checked battery it was hot, hadn;t shut off boiled battery dry, put new acid in, it never charged back up..$340.00 lesson, the company wouldn;t help with cost. said send charger and $10.00,they would repair it...no thanks..no longer leave them on

I do on the one Napa lead acid battery I have. On two other cars with Optima batteries I only use them when needed. The Optimas tend to hold their charge.

Thank you for the info. Do you just keep it on the battery as a tender?
