I have an aftermarket gauge and sender in my '38. My first sender was an inexpensive brand and it constantly fluctuated while moving. I changed to an AutoMeter sender and it stopped the fluctuating reading. It has been great for several years now.

The original King-Seeley gauge and sending unit are the best available.

My original king seely sender was all rotted out and was discarded by the previous owner when the gas tank was replaced. The new tank had a conventional universal 12V sender. I found the proper matching 12V gauge and used a 6-12V converter to power it. I added an oil pressure and temperature gauge and mounted in the glovebox to keep the look original on my 1934 Fordor. 6V to 12V Step Up Converter, DROK DC 5V-11V to 12V Boost Converter Voltage Regulator Module 3A 36W Volt Transformer Power Supply for Car Stereo Radio https://a.co/d/aiMxBgW
