I'm seeing little black specks in my coolant. Could the hoses be breaking down? I'd hate to have one fail. Not only that, but every supplier I've checked is "out of stock." Curious. Anybody know why? Or where to find a set? Part No. 40-8260

All rubber is subject to “graining”; while the lower hoses may require loosening the radiator to replace, you should be able to easily disconnect one of the upper hoses to examine the interior. A coolant change sounds due irrespective. Third Gen, among others, should be able to supply the replacements.

You may, as I had just recently done, but a length of radiator hose from NAPA. I bought a three foot "stick" for a '34 coupe that required new hoses.
