Your mistaken, the 48 have 4 contacts not 3. I know because I can see the one under my dash.

What you have shown does not appear to be the correct circuit breaker for the 48 Ford car. The original has just three wire terminals.

The battery cables were on backwards going to the solenoid.

Blase. Did you get the wiring sorted out?

Blase, There is no comfortable way to work under the dash unless you are about 18 years old, or have taken the front seat out. The B-B terminal has a link for the two studs, as there are two yellow #10 wires to be connected. One from the voltage regulator and one from the ammeter. The H feeds the headlight circuit, and the A feeds "accessories" such as interior light and dash lights etc.

Blase Not sure what you have there. However if you have the 41 to 48 Ford book there are three or four pages of wiring diagrams that should show you the information you are looking for.

Looking for the easy way to change the circuit breaker on a 1948 ford. The circuit breaker is behind the dash just above the gauges for the fuel , oil, amps and coolant. Also I have the original 51A-12258 which shows four contacts A,B,B H I know B is for battery what is A and H for.
